EDUCATION DEPARTMENT (Student Services) Florida Career College is dedicated to providing quality education and strong programs. Student Services is an important part of the educational experience at FCC, focusing on the student's needs along with advising, tutoring, and community resources. With a Director of Education at every campus, it truly embraces the phrase "The College that Cares." Florida Career College programs are taught by instructors with industry experience who are passionate about their fields. Programs are regularly evaluated to ensure quality along with providing current curriculum.
ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT The Education and Student Services Department provides academic advising to students throughout their programs, based on individual students’ needs. LIBRARY / RESOURCE CENTER The library/resource center is a centralized place where students can use professional reference books and periodicals. The College also maintains a multimedia computer system that has up-to-date online references. Florida Career College is a member of The Library and Information Resources Network which enables students to access resources from any location in which they have access to the Internet. MICROSOFT CAMPUS AGREMENT Florida Career College has a campus-wide licensing program that allows students to install specific software on their computers. TUTORING Students can use the computer laboratory when classes are not in session. Tutors will be available to answer general questions. Formal tutoring sessions can be scheduled for specific subjects by contacting the Education Department. The final decision regarding the number of hours scheduled and tutor assigned is subject to the approval of the Director of Education. There is no additional cost to the student for tutoring. EDUCATION RESOURCES The college’s web access allows students to view their upcoming scheduled courses, communicate with instructors via e-mail, view their grade book, and access periodicals. |
